The Salty Fly 2012 tournament was a fantastic event. With 65 teams competing, it became the one of the largest fly-fishing tournaments ever in Florida. Despite not so favorable weather conditions every single team that signed up showed up for the 6AM check-in. Winds ranging from 12 to 20 knots greeted anglers as they fished in various spots along Tampa Bay’s southeastern shore but everyone still caught fish. The top three winning teams fished from boats or waded as conditions dictated.
Just like last year, Hell’s Bay Pro-Staff and fly-fishing legends Flip Pallot and Chico Fernandez will be hosting trips at the world class Abaco Lodge. Abaco Lodge has top notch accommodations and their own fleet of Hell’s Bay Watermans. The calm weather of June will make for some excellent shots at tailing bonefish. The permit and tarpon fishing generally improves this time of year as well. Spots are limited and dates are filling up quick.
My new Biscayne is a Heavenly watercraft that does it all. Yes, it’s crazy, crazy, crazy good! I’m so excited, so thrilled, because when you ever get this jacked up about something new it seems there’s always a letdown somewhere, somehow. Not with this boat. Click more to read the full review.
